Newspapers had an important role in advertising different emigrant offices and world shipping companies. The attitude towards the emigration of Slovenes was mainly negative, which was constantly being pointed out in newspapers of different political and ideological orientations, mostly in Catholic ones. However, none of them seemed to refuse publishing advertisements for the journey to America in ever increasing numbers. Profit was after all profit!
